Experience two very different sides of Tanzania: Dodoma's wine country and cultural heartland, followed by the rugged wilderness of Ruaha National Park. The journey combines a city tour, vineyard visit, Gogo cultural experience, walking safaris, a balloon safari and extensive game viewing among baobab-studded landscapes. Day-by-Day Itinerary
SGR Train to Dodoma, City Tour and Wine Tasting
Travel by morning SGR train to Dodoma. Visit Nyerere Square and the Gaddafi Mosque before continuing into the surrounding wine country. Learn about Dodoma's two-season grape production and enjoy a private tasting of locally produced wines.
Gogo Culture, Lion Rock and Sunset
Spend the morning learning about Gogo traditions through music, dance, local customs and food. In the afternoon, visit Lion Rock for views across Dodoma, then enjoy a private sunset experience with a refreshing drink or glass of local wine.
Dodoma to Ruaha National Park
Depart for Ruaha National Park, stopping at Neema Crafts for lunch. Continue toward the park and enjoy a game drive en route to camp through Ruaha's dramatic landscapes.
Walking Safari and Full-Day Game Drive
After a light breakfast, join a walking safari focused on the smaller animals, plants and tracks often missed from a vehicle. Continue with a full-day game drive and picnic lunch in the bush.
Balloon Safari and Game Drive
Rise before dawn for a balloon safari above Ruaha's plains, baobabs and river valleys. After landing, enjoy a champagne-style bush breakfast, followed by a full-day game drive.
Walking Safari and Game Drive
Explore Ruaha on foot with an experienced walking guide and armed ranger. Learn to read animal tracks, identify native plants and understand the park's smaller ecosystems before a bush breakfast and another game drive.
Ruaha to Dodoma and Dar es Salaam
Transfer to Dodoma for the afternoon train to Dar es Salaam. A flight to Dar es Salaam can be arranged as an alternative for USD 395 per person.
