The Rongai Route is the only route that approaches Kilimanjaro from the north, near the Kenyan border. It is the least used and least crowded route, offering a genuine wilderness experience. The terrain is relatively gentle, making it suitable for those who prefer a less strenuous climb. The route passes through remote forest areas where you may spot wildlife including elephants and buffalo.
